Last year I talked about what ink brands had done that year and what I hoped for this year. In this article Iโm doing the same thing again. How many of my hopes were realised? What did the brand do? What do I want from them in 2019 and has that changed from what I wanted for this year? Last year this write up was over 3,500 words and this time it is over 6,100 wordsโฆ Sorry!

My Ink Collection: 1091 Bottles and 47 Litres of Ink (2019)
A year and a half ago I wrote about my then collection of 637 Bottles and 33.47 Litres of Ink and now, after cracking 1,000 thanks to my recent purchase of all 100 Sailor Ink Studio inks (from Pen Classics) I thought was a good time to give an update to the collection.

I've wanted to try Krishna inks for quite a while but their shipping prices have, in the past, been very prohibitive. I decided to take the plunge and bought 12 inks from The Pen World and I'm glad I did! Fortunately Krishna have found a way to ship the inks international much, much cheaper than in the past. They still aren't cheap but it's a lot better and the inks themselves are very aggressively priced at between US$2.80 and US$4.30 a bottle. It took a while but I finally cleaned the space around my ink shelf and and arranged the bottles somewhat to take a photo of the entire collection. The title is a bit untrue because as of these photos, 619 bottles of ink were on the shelf (well, one I forgot was on my desk) but I have 18 bottles of ink that are on the way as well making for a total of 637 bottles (593 if you discount the 44 duplicated). That's around 33.47 litres (8.84 gallons) of ink. I have an additional 99 samples and swatches of 165 inks that I have neither bottles nor samples of. In total I have 858 swatches of unique inks.
