Last year when I traveled to Japan I generally wanted to avoid buying stuff I knew I could easily get outside Japan. This included Sailor Ink Studio which I had heard was eventually going to be available to retailers outside Japan. Nevertheless I still wanted to try them out so and I grabbed Ink Studio 935 and 941 as they caught my eye the most (it was still a difficult decision!). I love purples and this reminded me of Dark Lilac (one of my favourite every inks) so I think it was a good choice. If you are interested in how Ink Studio sits within the rest of the 100 total inks check out this extensive overview of all inks!Read More
On July 31st last 2017 I reviewed the Nakaya Piccolo Writer Kuro-tamenuri. Twenty-eight days before that review was published I had ordered my own Nakaya. Ten months later it finally arrived; the Nakaya Decapod Writer Aka-tamenuri with a broad bi-colour nib. It's been a long wait but I think it was worth it and having this one has made we consider another Nakaya purchase down the road. I bought the pen from La Couronne du Comte.
I'm going to be doing more pen reviews moving forward as well so if there are any requests from for a review from all my pens please let me know!Read More

Shumibun Writing Time Jasper Green is a Sailor store exclusive ink from Shumibun in Japan. The store itself is makes a Fountain Pen magazine for the Fountain Pen market. The store describes the colour as a "deep green mixed with jasper". There are two other inks in the series (from which I only have a bottle of Jasper Green): Coral Blue (a dusty turquoise colour) and Lapis Blue (a rich blue).Read More
Pen's Alley Shaker Green is a pretty unique and special ink; a green ink with gold sheen. I've never seen anything like it before! Pen's Alley is a stationary and pen store in Okazaki, Japan. They have a series of Sailor Store Exclusive inks in the tall "vase" Sailor bottles of which this is one. Where this ink stands out is it's sheen!Read More
