Sailor Onago Iro #02 Komorebi is a Sailor made ink that is branded under Sailor (rather than a third party stationery store) and is sold from the Sailor Japan website. They don’t ship it internationally. I am told that Onago Iro translates into English as “girl colours” and Komorebi is the sunlight filtering through trees (Google Translate says “sunbeams”). The Onago Iro line of inks is a set of 10 inks of which this is listed in the second position. I acquired this ink via a friend.

Ink Review: KWZ Sheen Machine 2
KWZ Sheen Machine 2 Sheen Day is the second instalment in KWZ’s approach to super sheening inks. KWZ Sheen Machine (1) was the classic super sheening azure ink but with better writing characteristics and cleaner. KWZ Sheen Machine 2 shares those characteristics but is in now a rich teal ink
Thank you to Bookbinders Design for sending this ink out for review. Bookbinders were only recently able to stock this and some other KWZ inks that were otherwise unavailable in the Australian market.

Released in the latter half of 2019, KWZ Sheen Machine was KWZ’s first contribution to super sheening inks, as the name would suggest. KWZ also released a sequel, Sheen Machine 2 “Sheen Day” earlier 2020.

Taccia are making a series of inks based on Japanese Ukiyo-e artists and selections of their works. The current two series are based on four works from Sharaku Tōshūsai (this series) which are portraiture works and the other series (which you can view here) is on four works from Hukusai Katsushika which are landscape works. The inks take inspiration from specific colours in each of the works. Taccia has plans to expand the series of Ukiyo-e inspired inks.
Thanks to Desk Bandit for generously providing samples of 6 of these inks.
